Such
a practice offers many conveniences to today’s pet owner.
No longer will you have to suffer through the anxiety and motion-sickness
that traveling
causes in many family pets. No longer will you have to deal with
busy traffic or inclement weather, only to sit in crowded waiting
room for your appointment. Our practice is geared to multiple pet
households, busy pet owners, elderly or disabled clients, and anyone
wanting convenient, yet quality veterinary medicine.
Maryland Mobile Veterinary Clinic was established in 1985 through the vision and efforts of Dr. Rosilend Lawson. In May of 2006, Dr. Nancy Powel took over ownership of Maryland Mobile Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Nancy Powel is a 1999 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, and has since worked as an associate veterinarian in a small animal and bovine practice in Carroll County. As a veterinary practitioner, Dr. Powel’s top priority is to provide quality care to her patients. Equally important to her are the bonds she creates with both animals and their owners, which is why she is so excited to be continuing Dr. Lawson’s tradition of bringing quality, compassionate veterinary services to your door.
Physical examinations, laboratory testing, treatment and surgical procedures
are performed in our customized mobile clinic. We do not attempt diagnostic
or therapeutic procedures in the home environment. Dogs can feel threatened
or be dangerously protective when approached by new people on their own territory,
and there are fewer places for small animals to hide on our unit. To prevent
accidental escape, we ask that you allow proper restraint (leash, carrier)
of pets before leaving the house. You are encouraged to come along with your
pet to observe examination and treatment if you would like.
Euthanasia is a service that is available inside the home. It
is important to us that at this time you and your pet are in the
most comfortable, stress-free environment of your choosing.
